NACBA Green Country Chapter: “Stop Begging & Start Connecting” Presentation

I’m presenting, Stop Begging & Start Connecting: How to Build Volunteer Teams Who’ll Go the Second Mile, for the Green Country NACBA Chapter.

Date: August 15, 2013

Time: 11:45am-1:15pm

Where: First Christian Church – Tulsa (9th & Main Street)

“And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.”  Matthew 5:41

Our culture is obsessed with “busy”; not serving, so the church is swimming against the current when we ask for volunteers.  So how do we capture not only our congregation’s attention, but their hearts as well?  How can we get to the point where we’re no longer begging people to serve but simply connecting them with the opportunities?  Once they start serving, how do we keep them on our teams?

Based on her experience as both a volunteer and volunteer leader, Deborah will offer practical tips to connect with your congregation and help them see the value in serving.  From getting them to sign-up, to helping volunteer teams connect with each other and your staff, we’ll address common obstacles that hinder the development of incredible volunteer teams.

You don’t want to miss this meeting full of practical tips you can take back to your church and start implementing right away!
